How to install our apps
Every Tinymo app is free. Pick your system below: we've opened the one you're on. Stuck? Tell us and we'll help.
🍎 Install on macOS
Files: .dmg (works on Apple silicon and Intel Macs)
- Download the .dmg file.
- Open it and drag the app into the Applications folder.
- Open Applications and double-click the app.
- If macOS says it can’t check the app for malicious software, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway, then confirm.
- Find the app’s icon in the menu bar at the top right of the screen. Settings, pause and quit are in that menu.
While our desktop apps are in beta they are not yet notarized by Apple, so macOS asks you to confirm once. After that it opens normally. Notarized builds are on our roadmap.
Uninstall
- Quit the app from its menu bar icon.
- Drag it from Applications to the Bin.
🪟 Install on Windows
Files: .exe installer (recommended) or .msi (for managed PCs) · Windows 10 and 11
- Download the .exe installer.
- Open it. If you see “Windows protected your PC”, click More info → Run anyway.
- Follow the installer. It installs for your user account and does not need admin rights.
- Find the app’s icon in the system tray at the bottom right (click ^ if it is hidden). Settings, pause and quit are in that menu.
SmartScreen warns about new apps that are not yet code-signed. Signed Windows builds are on our roadmap; until then you confirm once with “Run anyway”.
Uninstall
- Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
- Find the app, click ⋯ → Uninstall.
🐧 Install on Linux
Files: .AppImage (any distro) or .deb (Ubuntu, Debian, Mint, Pop!_OS)
- AppImage: download it, then run
chmod +xon the file and double-click it (or run it from a terminal). - .deb: download it and run
sudo apt install ./followed by the file name, or open it with your Software app. - Find the app’s icon in the system tray / top bar.
- GNOME hides tray icons by default: install the AppIndicator and KStatusNotifierItem extension to see them.
- Overlay apps need a compositor for transparency. GNOME, KDE Plasma and most modern desktops have one turned on.
Uninstall
- AppImage: delete the file.
- .deb: run
sudo apt removefollowed by the app name.
🌐 Install on Browser
Files: No download: runs in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari
- Click Open in browser on the app page. That’s it.
- To keep it like an app (and use it offline): in Chrome or Edge, click the install icon in the address bar.
- On iPhone or iPad (Safari): tap Share → Add to Home Screen.
- On Android (Chrome): tap ⋮ → Install app or Add to Home screen.
Uninstall
- Remove it like any other app, or just close the tab.
Is it safe?
Downloads come straight from this website. Our desktop companions run entirely on your computer: they don't need an account and don't collect your data. Your system shows a warning the first time only because our beta builds are not yet signed by Apple and Microsoft; signed builds are on our roadmap.
