How to compress images
Pick one or more photos, choose a format and quality, and download the smaller files. Changing any setting re-compresses everything instantly. On a phone you can pick straight from your camera roll.
Which format should I choose?
- WebP — usually 25–35% smaller than JPEG at the same quality. Supported by every modern browser, great for websites.
- JPEG — the most compatible format for photos, email and older apps.
- PNG — lossless; best for screenshots, logos and images with transparency.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Compression uses your browser's built-in image engine, so photos never leave your device. That makes it safe for personal pictures, ID scans and work documents.
